Light Reading

It’s hard to believe that we’re already two weeks into the New Year. We have an exciting season ahead and the fresh-start-feel of January definitely has us thinking about our goals for the year. Have you stuck to your resolutions?

One thing we’re really like to do more of in 2013 is read. There are a few wedding books we’d like to have in our personal library to turn to when we need a shot of inspiration. It’s kind of nice to have an actual book (made of paper!) to look to once and a while instead of the internet, don’t you think?

First on the list, Style Me Pretty Weddings: Inspiration and Ideas for an Unforgettable Celebration. Style Me Pretty has long been a favourite wedding blog of ours and Editor Abby Larson’s long awaited book is truly an excellent buy.

The next book we’ll be picking up is Matthew Robbins’ Inspired Weddings: Designing Your Big Day with Favorite Objects and Family Treasures. Robbins is one of Martha Stewart’s wedding experts and this beautiful book certainly leaves us inspired to create something beautiful.

We spotted The New-Fashioned Wedding: Designing Your Artful, Modern, Crafty, Textured, Sophisticated Celebration on a recent trip to the bookstore and loved how pretty this book is. The handmade, vintage and modern custom weddings created by California-based wedding planners and event designers Paige Appel & Kelly Harris of Bash, Please really appeal to us and we know our clients will love this book too.

Last, but not least, is a book we have admired for a while, Handmade Weddings: More Than 50 Crafts to Personalize Your Big Day. The crafts in this book by authors Eunice and Sabrina Moyle and Shana Faust are just lovely and range from easy to advanced, perfect for every member of the wedding party. Maybe even willing Grooms!

Happy reading,
